For K-pop fans, SBS Inkigayo Sandwich is the idol sandwich.

Our feeds turned Japanese on Wednesday after McDonald’s Philippines released its newest offering: “Flavors of Japan.” More than a month before the appearance of lovely cherry blossoms in the east Asian nation, McDonald’s Philippines went ahead and offered Japanese-themed treats mirroring the much-awaited season. The treats include Strawberry Sakura McFloat, Nori Shake Shake Fries, Ebi Tempura Burger and Teriyaki Samurai Burger. The hype for these products is really high so The Eatventurers decided to try them out on the first day of their release. Here are our initial thoughts on McDo’s Flavors of Japan:

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Have you already picked up a present for your significant other?  If the answer is no, you’d better get that soon. And if you ask The Eatventurers what to give during the most romantic day of year, we’d definitely say food.  Food is the language of love and how cool is it to express it in the form of a delicious gift?  The Eatventurers listed down the Valentine's treat for every relationship status:

Why do Filipinos love chicharon or crispy pork rinds? For one, chicharon is crispy, delicious and addicting but just like your regular junk food, it is also  fatty, salty and may be bad for your heart. Fortunately, recent innovations in the food industry provide us with healthy options for chicharon. Among those healthier alternatives to chicharon is crispy seaweed crackers. One local store that offers this healthy treat is Faru’s Sea-Charon.

Lugaw or rice porridge is one of TheEatventurers ’ favorite comfort food. It doesn’t cost much, yet it is very filling. Some are exquisitely delicious which makes it a bang for your buck. No wonder, it was used in the idiom"tubong lugaw" which means with small capital, there is a large return. Lugaw is Chinese in origin. It is very easy to digest, which makes it a perfect dish for people under the weather. It has different variations, from goto to arrozcaldo, to whatever toppings you desire. It is the cousin of your favorite risotto. In a small place in Makati, The Eatventurers discovered a restaurant packed with people of all social status. You guessed it! We are talking about Lugawan sa Tejeros also known as "LST."

Did you miss Mr. Sun? The past few weeks have been rainy and so seeing sunshine was such a rare thing, but how do we enjoy this hot weather? The Eatventurers discovered Frit Cone’s stall in 2016 but it was only this year that we tried their Graham Fruit Chill.

Ever since there was a Korean craze in Manila, people got to recognize the Korean culture including its food and famed desserts.  Among the most popular desserts which reached the Philippine soil aside from Korean ice creams are Bingsu, sometimes spelled here as “bingsoo.” Bingsu is a Korean shaved ice dessert with various toppings like chocolates, fruits, and beans, served in a bowl. Milk and other flavorings serve as its syrup. It is similar to our very own Halo-halo. In the neighborhood of Taft Avenue, The Eatventurers discovered a hangout place which mainly offers Bingsu. It is called “Snowboom Dessert Cafe.”

Since it is already what Filipinos call "summer," The Eatventurers tried to look for thirst-quenchers worth less than a hundred and came across Chatime's Sunset Obsession. What's good, Chatime?
